Commercial Flight Information:
Please plan on arriving in Harlingen, Texas on your day of
arrival between 12:00 – 1:00 pm. You should make your
commercial flight departure on your day of departure between
1:00 – 2:00 pm. The van will leave the lodge to take you back
to Harlingen at 7:00 am. It is approximately a 4 hour drive.
It is important to schedule your commercial travel around our
recommended times as we are having to coordinate many groups
coming and going and we do not want you to have to sit at the
airport too long. Southwest Airlines and Continental Airlines
fly into Harlingen.
PLEASE NOTE:
If your flight is delayed on your day of departure to the lodge
you must call Lily Ann Prevost at: 956-245-1718 so we may
coordinate your transfers accordingly.
Special arrangements due to late arrivals and departures may
incur an additional charge.
Van Transportation:
Upon arrival at the airport, go to the Baggage Claim area. Our
ground transportation personnel will meet you there. If you
have not been contacted by the time your luggage arrives, please
call the office.
The driver can stop before
crossing the border if you want to eat lunch or you can pick up
some sandwiches at or near the airport. There will be beer and
soft drinks in the van for your trip. Also, there will be a
rest stop approximately half-way. The total trip will take
approximately four hours. You will arrive in camp in time to
relax, prepare for the next day of hunting and eat dinner.
Guns:
The lodge provides quality shotguns. The use of lodge guns is
included in the standard package price.
Shells are $13.00 per box.

following are minimum recommended tips:
1. Bird

This tip should be paid directly to the bird boys at the end of
the hunt.

Duck (Head

Dove (Emilio)
- $50 per outing
3. House
staff - $100.00 per hunter.
This is for our 3 day hunting trip. If you hunt extra days
we recommend that you tip an additional $20 per hunter per day.
This tip should be given directly to the camp manager to
distribute to the staff (cooks, housekeepers, grounds keepers,
bird cleaners, etc.) at the end of the trip.
4. Van
driver - $5.00 per person each way.
Please tip the van
driver after each trip as you may have a different driver each

Clothing:
The weather during white-wing season is generally very warm so
dress accordingly. White-wing doves flare from bright colors;
therefore, for hunting we suggest khaki or camouflage clothing,
hunting boots or heavy walking shoes and camouflage caps. In
addition to hunting clothes, include slacks, shorts, shirts and
swimsuit.
The weather during December
through February for quail and duck hunting brings temperature
extremes, usually cold in January and February with sunny and
mild conditions between cold fronts. Temperatures usually vary
from the low 40's to the low 70's.
Long pants and jackets are
recommended as a minimum. Other cold weather hunting clothes
should be considered in late December through February.
Footwear needs to be comfortable hunting boots. It is
REQUIRED that all of our quail hunters wear one piece of
clothing that is orange, preferably a hat or vest, and also
snake chaps or leggings. We have snake chaps at the lodge for
your use.
